Passion for creativity and the arts motivate Alison. A degreed interior designer, Alison has taught interior design at Bellevue Community College, served on the board of the American Society of Interior Designers as well as run her own design firm for over twenty four years.

Alison has played the violin and piano since the third grade. She studied piano with Dorothy Cornell from Palo Alto, California and violin with Aaron Sten, conductor of the Peninsula Symphony Orchestra and the California Youth Symphony Orchestra. She traveled on concert tour in the first violin section with the Youth Symphony to Japan and Mexico while she was a member. She attended Oregon State University and played first violin with the Oregon State Symphony Orchestra. Still learning, Alison currently studies piano with Barbara Rollins in Kirkland, Washington.

As an adult, she has been an active board member for the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra and is currently on the executive board of the Chopin Festival Foundation, having served as the Recording Secretary. She has been a member of the Seattle Chapter of the Chopin Foundation from its inception. She is also an enthusiastic triathlete and marathon runner.

Alison has two grown daughters and five grandchildren. Her husband, Skip, is a principal at the Rainier Group, Inc. They live in Medina, Washington.
